Congratulation to the 2024 sacramental class on thier first reconciliation.  

On Saturday 22^nd June we welcomed into our faith community through the sacrament of baptism Elijah Gordon and Lydia Morris.  Elijah was also welcomed with a smoking and welcoming ceremony before mass to acknowledge Elijah’s indigenous heritage.  Please pray for these children as they continue of thier faith journey.

Fr Uday Marneni recently had the pleasure to speak to St Augustine's Year 1 and 2 students, on the symbolism of the Paschal Candle. The students then had lots of questions for him. This was a lovely opportunity for Father Uday to get to know some of the young people in our parish while they got to spend some quality time in the church..

I am Fr. Uday Kumar Marneni ALCP/OSS. I was born on 24^th March 1981 and since then I grew up in my village (a small village of 300 Catholic families) Bhimanapally Kammagudem in the Diocese of Nalgonda, in the state of Telangana, India. I am the youngest child to my late parents, Roman and Jathruthamma; I have an older sister and an older brother. My brother died four years ago.

My family was a traditional Catholic family. I did my schooling in Catholic Institutions. I was inspired to religious life by my cousins, who are religious sisters. I observed their faithful service in different fields, pastoral, medical, educational and social. They guided me to choose this way of life. Meanwhile, as years passed when I was in the seminary, I felt more than ever, the call to vocation that God had planned for me.

I was ordained a Roman Catholic Priest on 14 May 2011 for the Apostolic Life Community of Priests in the Opus Spiritus Sancti (ALCP/OSS).

Priesthood, for me, is challenging and rewarding. Being a priest has given me the privilege of getting to know people well and of being part of their lives in joyful and painful times. I hope to be a part of your community soon to be one of you to share the Word of God and Break the Bread of Life.
